Established in 1954
In 1970, his son, Martin Nelson Jr. joined the firm; he took over as president in 1982 and he has been leading the Company to this day.
In May 1954, Martin Nelson Sr., after working for over 20 years at a large New York brokerage house, decided to establish a Northwest-based investment firm. He, along with Mel Scoville, founded Nelson, Scoville & Co in downtown Seattle. Just a year later, Martin Nelson bought out Scoville and formed Martin Nelson & Company.
